What is a Home Health Aide (HHA)?
A home health aide is trained and certified health-care worker who provides assistance to a patient in the home with personal care, and light household duties, and who can report a change in a patient condition when in home.
At JECTROL MS our trained and certified HHA will provide assistance with certain personal care , light household duties and other health-related services as described in the individual’s care plan.
Services provided by home health aides include:
Personal Care (PC)
Service may take the form of hands-on assistance, that is performing a task for the consumer, or cuing and supervision to prompt the consumer to perform a task.
Such assistance may include assistance in:
- Bathing
- Dressing
- Haircare
- Oral care
- Grooming
- Skincare
- General hygiene
- Perineal care
- Repositioning, if bed-bound
- Supporting physical therapy exercise
- Restroom assistance
- Other activities of daily living (ADL’s)
- Reminders with medications in accordance with Executive Office Elder Affairs (EOEA’s) Personal Care Guidelines.
HOMEMAKER (HM)
Service includes assistance with:
- Planning and preparation of meals, as specified in the care plan.
- Groceries shopping
- Bedmaking, changing linen
- Dusting, and vacuuming
- Assistance with organizing things
- Plant care, as directed.
- Laundry care
- Pet care
